About Ontario Fish Finder
Ontario Fish Finder started from a simple frustration: planning a fishing trip meant piecing together information from half a dozen different government tools and PDFs — one site for the species a lake holds, another for its depth and water clarity, a separate regulations summary for seasons and limits, and yet another for consumption advisories. None of them showed you the whole picture for a single spot at once.
This site pulls all of that together onto one map. Click a lake or river and its full profile is right there: species, depth, water clarity, thermal regime, live weather and water levels, fishing regulations for its zone, consumption advisories, stocking history, and solunar feeding times — all in one tap, all free, no sign-in, and it works offline once you've visited a lake.
It's an independent project, not an official government tool — see "Official data, not guesswork" below for exactly where the data comes from and how current it is. Always confirm seasons, limits and sanctuaries in the official Ontario Fishing Regulations Summary before you head out.

Every layer is sourced from the same open datasets behind Ontario's own Fish ON-Line tool, plus Environment Canada and the community at iNaturalist.
