This site brings the information anglers need together in one place. Instead of jumping between different websites to find lake depths, fish species, weather conditions, stocking history, fishing regulations and consumption advisories, you can simply open the map and choose a lake or river.

Built for Ontario anglers
Ontario has an incredible amount of fishable water. It also has a lot of information about that water—but finding and understanding it isn’t always simple.
Ontario Fish Finder includes more than 20,000 named lakes and rivers across the province. Each waterbody may include details such as:
Fish species
Lake depth and water clarity
Fisheries Management Zone
Seasons and catch limits
Waterbody-specific regulation exceptions
Fish sanctuary boundaries
Stocking history
Live weather and water-level information
Sunrise, sunset and solunar feeding times
Fish consumption advisories
The goal isn’t to tell you exactly where to cast or promise that the fish will be biting. Fish are rarely that cooperative.
The goal is to give you a clearer picture of a lake before you load the truck, launch the boat or hike down to shore.

A fishing tool isn’t much help if it only works comfortably from a desktop computer.
Ontario Fish Finder was designed with phones and real fishing trips in mind. You can search for a lake, explore nearby waters, save favourites and review lake information while you’re planning at home or standing near the launch.
You can also install the site on your phone like an app. Lakes you’ve previously opened—and especially the ones you’ve saved—can remain available when you lose your signal. That matters in Ontario, where cell service often disappears at roughly the same moment the scenery starts getting really good.
The main map and planning tools are free to use without an account. Creating a free account is optional and lets you sync favourites, catches and waypoints across your devices.
Reliable information, without pretending to be the rulebook
Ontario Fish Finder is an independent project, not a Government of Ontario website.
The site brings together information from official Ontario open-data sources, Environment Canada and other trusted datasets. Still, fishing regulations can change, and individual waterbodies sometimes have special rules.
Before heading out, always confirm current seasons, possession limits, size restrictions and sanctuary closures using the official Ontario Fishing Regulations Summary.
Think of Ontario Fish Finder as a practical starting point for your trip—not a replacement for the official regulations.
